This year has already seen some of South Africa's most high profile trials.
At the centre of one of the most controversial cases is Katiso "KT" Molefe, the Sandton businessman accused of orchestrating multiple murders, including that of popular DJ Oupa John Sefoka, known as DJ Sumbody, and his two bodyguards, crimes prosecutors describe as part of a violent organised crime syndicate.
After the Alexandra Magistrates' Court refused his bail application, citing the seriousness of the charges and the risk of absconding, Molefe's legal team appealed to the Johannesburg High Court, which in October set bail at R400,000..
