The blessing is really only experienced as a live gathering of people with God. When we worship God together we experience the Lord's presence among us. Therefore we encourage you to come along.
If you are not sure if you are a Christian, if you prayerfully seek the Lord, and maybe even if you don't, you may well come to know the love and grace of God in a way which you have never done before.

YOU are most welcome to join us in person on The Lord's Day (Sunday) when, God willing, we meet from 10:30 for 11am and at 6 for 6:30pm, at William Morris House, 267 The Broadway, Wimbledon, London, SW19 1SD.

FIND US: It is easy to find us: opposite the Polka Theatre (bus stop, buses 57, 93, 131 & 219) or a 5 to 10 minute walk from either Wimbledon Station or South Wimbledon (Northern Line) tube station.

ACCESS: The 11am morning service is on the first floor with no lift.
The 6:30pm evening service is on the ground floor and has a lift for access from street level.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
ALL are very welcome to attend.
The building is nice and warm!
Nothing is required of visitors in terms of appearance, beliefs or participation. Visitors will definitely not be asked to make any financial donation. We will be delighted to see you and hope you find us friendly but not pushy! If you prefer to leave quietly at any point, then you can do so without apology or feeling awkward.

We aim to worship God reverently in spirit and truth (Hebrews 12:28; John 4:23) with the help of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, the Authorised Version Bible (KJV), Psalms from the 1650 Scottish Metrical Psalter, prayer and a biblical sermon.
Approximately half the service is a sermon which is an explanation of the Bible applied to us.
Services are approximately 75 minutes.
Rev Peter Ratcliff is preaching a series of sermons through the Gospel of John (mornings), The Revival of Worship (evenings) and midweek on Job. Some weeks we have a visiting preacher.

Services are available online for those unable to attend. If you live far away we may be able to recommend a church nearer to your home.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
THERE is a midweek service on Wednesdays, currently preaching through the Book of Job (ask for details). While considered to be a long miserable book until Job's deliverance at the end, we are finding much joy and encouragement in Job's example of faith and patience which we now have more plainly through Jesus Christ.
ON Fridays at 5:30pm, weather permitting, we usually go to Wimbledon Broadway outside Centre Court to preach in a quite direct way and enjoy conversations with passers by.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Like many churches, sadly not all, we believe that the Bible alone is the Word of God which teaches that God is our maker to be loved, served and worshipped. Yet mankind in the natural state is far from God. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is both God and man, came into the world to reconcile a great multitude of people from all nations to God. He did this chiefly by dying a sacrificial death so that all who turn to trust in him will be forgiven and justified, having a new and eternal life. This is known as the new birth and is by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and is the way to be saved and is received by a work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts giving us faith to both trust Christ and to turn from our godless ways.
St John's is a congregation of the Church of England Continuing.
We are NOT in the Church of England or connected to it.
Our Doctrinal Basis is the 39 Articles of Religion of 1562, understood as intended by the Protestant Reformers and more fully set out later by the Puritans and Evangelicals.
