The fifty-fourth day of the uprising, Saturday. After battles full of sacrifice and courage, Czerniakow falls.
The last point of resistance on Czerniakowska Dyke falls. The Germans begin mass murder and rape of insurgents and civilians with impunity.
In their reports, the Germans emphasise that they have performed an exceptional feat in defeating the insurgents in Czerniakow - ‘the fight for the last house lasted 24 hours’. Describing in a report to their superiors the heroic defence of the point on Solec, they stress that ‘the last resistance of the insurgents, who fought to the last bullet, was broken’.
The Germans bombarded Mokotow and Zoliborz with great intensity. In Śródmieście (City Centre), the insurgents captured the house at 30 Grzybowska Street, which they had lost the day before.
