THE GREENERS OF SAI SANCTUARY

Описание: Save Animals Initiative or SAI Sanctuary, 295 kilo metres from Bangalore city is the first private sanctuary nestled in the foothills of the Western Ghats in Kodagu, the smallest district of Karnataka.
Dr.Anil Kumar Malhotra and Pamela initially bought 55 acres of unused land and gradually kept buying more and more unproductive lands from the farmers. the couple simultaneously started to plant hundreds and thousands of native trees, reforesting of the entire land become a lifelong mission. they went to great length to see that there was no chopping down of existing trees, no human interference and no poachers.
A small portion of land consisting of coffee and cardamom plantation was rejuvenated. currently the sanctuary is off-grid and its runs completely on solar energy, sustainable organic farming, with a new addition of ecotourism project with a few cottages to bring awareness in environmental protection. SAI is a registered as a not-for-profit trust.
Today sanctuary consists of 300 acres; it took 25 years of hard work dedication and lifelong savings to convert this barren land into a lush green forest.
ONE LIFE ONE MISSION of the Malhotra couple is an inspirational model for others to emulate to save the human race by securing the future of forests and wildlife around the world - SAI has shown the way, we have to just follow them to save our future generation and the beautiful planet that we humans proudly call...Mother Earth.
