Secretary Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Department, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, along with Mr. Asim Raza, MD TDCP, inaugurated the newly completed state-of-the-art cafeteria-cum-auditorium at TDCP’s Kalar Kahar Resort. Revamped in just three days under the guidance of MD TDCP, the facility features an enhanced back wall, improved aesthetics, upgraded lighting, new plantations, tuff-tiled pathways, and a spacious parking area. This unique facility, the first of its kind in the region, offers a modern venue for seminars with dining and multimedia capabilities, catering to tourists, students, history enthusiasts, and corporate groups. Located in a scenic setting, it complements six nearby tourist attractions within a 2.5 km radius, including the resort, lake, museum, Tomb of Hu Bahu Sarkar, Bagh-e-Safa, and Takht-e-Babri, making it a valuable addition to the region’s tourism landscape.
During the visit, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta also inspected the Kalar Kahar Museum and instructed the immediate repair of cracks on the interior and exterior walls, further directing its inclusion in TDCP’s visitor itineraries. At Bagh-e-Safa, he ordered WMC to carry out cleaning and removal of wild growth, while also appreciating the management and curator for the upkeep of Takht-e-Babri and Kalar Kahar Museum. He tasked MD TDCP with devising a plan to highlight the lake view from Takht-e-Babri, emphasizing that linking historical sites with modern facilities is a step toward sustainable tourism. Dr. Ehsan Bhutta reiterated that the Kalar Kahar Tourism Trail will provide a unique experience by connecting six key attractions within walking distance, creating new opportunities for cultural, academic, and eco-tourism.
