In a Joint operation, the SOT Madhapur Zone and KPHB Police arrested a notorious snatching gang of (05) persons and detected (5) cases of chain snatching, (02) cases of Motor cycle theft, (02) cases of mobile snatching of Madhapur Zone and recovered 86 grams of gold, 3 motorcycles and (03) mobile phones all worth of Rs. 4,00,000/-
NAMES OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS:
1. Dusmukku Dasthagiri, S/o. Nagesh, age. 19Yrs, R/o. Near Kakathiya Wines, Site-III, Borabanda, Hyderabad.

2. M.Shiva Kumar, S/o. M. Raju, age. 19 Yrs, R/o. Near Indira gandhi Statue, Ananthaiah Basthi, Borabanda, Hyderabad, N/o. Siddapuram Village, Sadashivapet.

3. Bandari Sairam @ Sai, S/o. Basker chary, Age: 19 years, R/.o T Anjaya Nagar, Borabanda, Hyderabad, N/o. Gurandi (Village) Srikakulam Dist, Andhra Pradesh State.

4. One JUVENILE IN CONFLICT WITH LAW

PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED AND PREVIOUS CRIMINAL HISTORY
DUSMUKKU DASTAGIRI: He is a resident of Site-III, Borabanda of SR Nagar PS limits. When he was a juvenile i.e., at the age of 16 he started indulging into property crimes and committed theft of 11 motor cycles under Begumpet and Madhapur police stations limits. He was arrested by Begumpet and Madhapur Police in these offences and was sent to Juvenile home, Saidabad. In the month of September, 2018 he jumped on bail and did centring works along with his brothers. As he could not meet his lavish expenses, he formed a gang with Shiva, Sairam and JCL and started committing snatchings of gold chains from women, cell phones and theft of motor cycles under Madhapur Zone limits.
MODUS OPERENDI OF THE GANG:
Most of the offences committed by this gang took place in the early hours. Prime accused of the gang is Dastagiri. He chooses different persons of his gang for different offences for riding the motor cycle and mostly he will be pillion rider for the motorcycle during the offence. He selects the place and time of the offence, and targets single women moving in the streets. When he reaches near to that targeted woman, after ensuring that nobody is nearby to them. He gets down from the motorcycle, snatches the chain from the neck of the women and pushes the woman if she resists and flee from the scene of offence. He also committed theft of mobile phones, motor cycles with the same gang. He also used the stolen motor cycles for committing the Snatchings to get the police confused to get their identity.
EFFORTS BY POLICE
This gang went on spree in committing snatching offences from the lone women in early hours which resulted a sense of insecurity among the citizens particularly those women community who will be moving in streets lonely in the early hours for their personal work. Cyberabad Police has taken it as a challenge and teams were formed from SOT and Madhapur Zone police to nab the offenders. The teams have made sustained efforts and collected CCTV footage in all the places of offence and got the pictures of the offenders, which made the Police to get the descriptive particulars of the accused and to get the identity of the accused. Based on the specific information, SOT, Madhapur Zone along with KPHB police caught the accused on 03-05-2019 at 04.00 AM at 7th Phase, KPHB.
During the interrogation, accused persons confessed the following offences in the limits of KPHB, MADHAPUR, BACHUPALLY and NARSINGI police stations. In pursuance of confession, the following properties were recovered from their possession as mentioned below.

Cyberabad Police will invoke provision of PD act against the accused Dasthagiri.
