Let’s see the interesting places we visited in Osaka, Japan..

We traveled from Bengaluru to Tokyo and took another flight from Tokyo to reach Osaka.

We started the tour with a Temple visit. It’s called Sumiyoshi Taisha - it’s a small temple but a beautiful one.

We spent sometime there and then went to the Herb Gardens in Kobe.

This is one of Japan's largest botanical gardens, on the slopes of Mount Rokkō.

We have to take a ropeway car ride to reach the botanical garden on top.
We can go there and get the tickets as it’s not crowded.
It’s a 10 min ride and totally enjoyable. You get to see the panoramic views of 2 cities …Kobe and Osaka, as you go up through the Cable car.

There are restaurant, gift shop and a museum of fragrances on top…

The museum has all the herb extracts which are kept in sample bottles, we can smell the herb oils and buy them in their shops. There is an amazing variety of fragrances on display here.

These are the instruments they had used in olden times to extract herb oils.

This is the stunning view of Osaka Bay and Osaka port from the top.

We walked down the hill to see the most beautiful, colourful Glass house, where most of the herb plants are preserved.

This park has over 75,000 herbs and seasonal flowers in different garden areas

This is the famous "Statue of Mother and Child,"
Which symbolizes love and the statue was a Gift by Italian government.

The entire garden is decorated with Hearts and flowers for Valentine’s Day.
We were feeling so Blessed to be there in that week.

As We walk down, we could see a small waterfall on the way.

Further down was the Hammock station, where we can lie down in the hammocks and relax for sometime, enjoying the city view.

Next to that is the cable car’s midway station. We got into a cable car to reach the Base station.
We can also walk down all the way, but it would take more than two hours.

People who love plants, herbs and fragrances would totally enjoy this place.

The next interesting place we visited was NARA park. It has more than 1,300 free-roaming wild deers.

Deers are considered as sacred messengers of the gods

We are allowed to feed them only Shika Senbei (deer crackers), which every vendor around sells it for 200 YEN for one pack. We can’t feed them any other food, as it is harmful to their health

When we feed them the crackers, Many deers “bow" to us and express their gratitude.

The park stretches over 660 hectares and has many important temples and shrines.

Kasuga Taisha Shrine: Famous for its thousands of stone and bronze lanterns that line the entire path to the shrine.
Tōdai-ji Temple: this temple has a massive wooden hall and the Great Buddha statue. This is one of the world's largest bronze statues.

Interesting thing about this temple is…
There is a huge pillar inside the Great Buddha Hall and it has a hole the size of the Buddha statue’s nostril , which is about 18” inch in diameter.. it’s believed that anyone who can pass through this hole will have a long and prosperous life.

People line up for a chance to try this.
You can see this thin boy who successfully went through this hole..

The next temple we visited was
Kofuku-ji Temple: Famous for its five-story pagoda and a National Treasure Museum.
The Gangoji temple is also situated inside this park.

All these temples charge us Entry fee. The tickets can be bought only through cash. They don’t accept Card payments. So please carry Japanese Yen when you travel in Japan.

We took two days to visit these places.
