Mount Fuji to Tokyo on film | 35mm Journal: Japan | Part 3

Описание: The final week in Japan! It was a quick stop in Osaka but got to explore Dontonburi at night and Osaka Castle the next day. Then we made our way toward Kawaguchiko to stay around Mount Fuji for a night.

We caught the Shinkansen, nice and easy as always but I didn’t realize how hard it would be to get from X station to Kawaguchiko and it was pouring rain. We got a short cab to a local train station and took it as far as we could go before taking another $120 cab to the cottage we were staying at. Unfortunately it was late at this point but the next day was my birthday and we were going to wake up to Mount Fuji.

Waking up to Mount Fuji on my 29th birthday was surreal. I caught the sunrise and some beautiful photos of the sun hitting the peak of Mount Fuji. Then spent the day wandering around enjoying the view of Mount Fuji from everywhere we went.

It would be a proper trip without back to back missions to get where we’re going. We eventually made it to Tokyo at nearly 10pm. Still my birthday and somehow had enough energy to go out for the night. Ended up staying out until 5am, a 24 hour 29th birthday.

We spent the rest of the trip exploring Tokyo and its many neighbourhoods, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Kitazawa, Harajuku, Akihabara and probably a few more I’m missing.

Trip of a lifetime.
