The brand new Royal Air Force E-7A Wedgetail AEW&C MK1 registered as WT001 is seen taking off from Birmingham for its debut appearance at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. This jet started its life in 2010 as a Boeing 737-700BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) and was delivered in 2012 to DeerJet, which also had the world's most expensive 787. In 2019 the Boeing Capital Corporation got hold of the jet again, and has been stored at Birmingham (BHX) for the Wedgetail conversion between 7 January 2021 and 1 October 2024.
