A while ago I picked up a SHURE M67 mic mixer and wanted to test it out on a track so I built up this cover version of Maybe I'm a Leo - Deep Purple up in a Booker T & the MGs / The Meters vibe.
Its been modified so each channel has a direct out, super handy.
So I used a combination of 2x mics, the classic MD421 dynamic and the AEA R92 ribbon on all the sources, but I did include and extra MD421 on the kit (kick & snare).
For the gear nerds, I also used a 20" Premier bass drum, Ludwig Acrolite, 15" K hats, Paiste 22" thin , Gibson ES225, Harmony H72, Tarrant offset, Clingan Super 8, Badcat Cub 15R, Ibanez P-Bass, Ampeg PF20, C3 Hammond, 122 Leslie. Not much happening in post, a little Tape Saturation from UA and Mix bus Compression using UA Fairchild.
