Описание: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, SNS College of Technology, Coimbatore, proudly organized a three-day Dissemination of Innovative Technology (DIT) programme titled “AgriTech 4.0: Embracing Cutting-Edge Technologies for Modern Farming” from 6th to 8th August 2025, sponsored by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST).

💡 The programme was coordinated by Dr. S. Arunkumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, under the sanction TNSCST/DIT/MK/2022-23/16/3893 with a grant of Rs. 50,000/-.

🌱 Programme Highlights

🎤 Day 1 – Inauguration & Smart Irrigation Awareness

Inaugurated by Mr. P. Siddharthan, Deputy Director of Horticulture – Plantation Crops, Coimbatore.

Dignitaries included Dr. S. Chenthur Pandian (Principal), Dr. P. Tamil Selvam (Vice Principal – Admin & Dean / Mech), Dr. P. Vivekanandan (Vice Principal – Academics), and Dr. C. Sowmya Dhanalakshmi (HoD / Mech).

Technical sessions by Dr. M. Karthikeyan and Dr. I. Johnson, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), on Smart Irrigation, Plant Disease Management, and IoT-based Agriculture.

Lab Visit – “From Soil to Sensor” led by Dr. T. C. Kumari Sugitha, Associate Professor, Agricultural Engineering, SNSCT.

🚜 Day 2 – Industry Demonstration & Field Visit

Hands-on technical demo by Mr. K. Dhevendhiran, HR Manager, Mobitech Wireless Solution Pvt. Ltd., Perundurai, showcasing Wireless Smart Irrigation Systems using IoT and cloud technology.

Field visit to Mobitech Farm Unit, offering real-time exposure to automated irrigation and weather-integrated systems.

🛰️ Day 3 – Drones in Precision Agriculture

Expert sessions and live demos by Mr. T. Abishek (Flyers Drone Tech) and Mr. J. Ragothaman (Cyber Craft) on UAV-based crop monitoring, spraying, and mapping.

Discussions on AI-based crop health prediction, DGCA policies, and future of drone-based farming.

Concluded with a valedictory session, certificate & plant sapling distribution, and participant feedback highlighting practical benefits.
