Welcome to today's live solar stream for September 21! I'll be bringing you a real-time look at the Sun and the latest space weather. All of today's updates on solar activity are provided right here in the description below.

Today's the day of a partial solar eclipse, but it isn't visible from my location. However, I'll have a window showing a live simulation of the Sun and Moon's close approach, giving you a view of this celestial event from my planetarium software. Best views will be for skywatchers in parts of Antarctica, New Zealand, and eastern Australia. The peak of the eclipse will occur at 3:41 PM EDT (19:41 UTC)

Right now, the solar flare activity is at low levels with a few C-class flares recorded. The solar wind speed is also increasing, and geomagnetic conditions are expected to become unsettled to active later today, with a chance for a G1 (Minor) storm.
