John, 37 years old, works in a factory. He is single and decided to seek help for his erection problems. He never completed a penetration because he did not attain an erection. Good erections with masturbation are experienced. Many years before, his first attempt failed in the context of an occasional relationship. Then he tried a few times without success, even when using PDE5i. He never visited a urologist for his problem, but he tried to solve the problem with medication for the erectile dysfunction. He developed avoidance of any sexual encounter. After a careful sexual history, the diagnosis is psychogenic ED, lifelong, situational, and personal distress.
