Manchester United fight back to beat 10-man Crystal Palace 2-1 at a buoyant Old Trafford, climbing to 3rd place in the Premier League.
Trailing to Lacroix's early goal, the hosts then played their way into the game, testing Henderson with several attempts. With Palace still holding firm approaching the hour mark, Lacroix was again involved in the game's pivotal moment: for hauling back Cunha, he conceded a penalty and was ultimately sent off via the VAR.
Bruno Fernandes duly converted the spot-kick, before putting on a masterclass against short-handed opponents. United's inspirational skipper created countless chances, and Sesko headed one home in the 65th minute, giving the Red Devils a lead they would never relinquish. Henderson was also called upon to make another series of saves, as United's xG crept up to 2.05 by the final whistle, compared to Palace's meagre 0.38 overall.
Carrick becomes the first Man Utd boss since Frank O'Farrell in 1971 to win his first five home fixtures, and their top-four quest will continue on Wednesday, away to Newcastle United.
