កាលដើមឡើយ«អគ្និទេព» ឬ«ព្រះអគ្គី»ទ្រង់មានអំនួតខ្លាំងណាស់ ទ្រង់តែងតែប្រើប្រាស់អំណាចដោយមិនគិតខ្វល់ថាខុសឬត្រូវ ល្អឬអាក្រក់នោះទេ, ទ្រង់បានបណ្តាលឱ្យអណ្តាតភ្លើងឆាបឆេះ រាលដាល លេបត្របាក់ព្រៃឈើ ផ្ទះសម្បែងគ្រប់ទីកន្លែងជាញឹកញយ ដោយទ្រង់យល់ថានេះគឺជាតួនាទីរបស់ទ្រង់ក្នុងការដុតបំផ្លាញអ្វីៗគ្រប់យ៉ាងឱ្យខ្ទេចក្លាយជាផេះផង់, នរណាក៏ដោយ ឱ្យតែហ៊ានលេងជាមួយភ្លើង គេនឹងប្រឈមមុខជាមួយលទ្ធផលដ៏អាក្រក់បំផុត, ហេតុដូច្នេះឥសី«គ្រឹហបតិ»(गृहपति)ដែលជាអវតាររបស់ព្រះសិវៈ ក៏បានកើតឡើងដើម្បីបង្ក្រាបនូវអហង្ការរបស់«អគ្និទេព»។

អវតារសំខាន់ៗរបស់ព្រះសិវៈមានច្រើនរហូតដល់ទៅ ១៩ អង្គដូចជា៖ ១.ឥសី«បិប្បលាទ»(पिप्पलाद), ២.ព្រះគោ«នន្ទិ»(नन्दि), ៣.ព្រះ«ភៃរវៈ»(भैरव), ៤.ព្រះ«វីរភទ្រ៑»(वीरभद्र), ៥.ឥសី«គ្រឹហបតិ»(गृहपति), ៦.សត្វចម្លែក«សរភៈ»(शरभ), ៧.ព្រះ«ព្រហ្មចារី»(ब्रह्मचारी), ៨.ព្រះ«សុនដនត៌ក៑»(सुनटनर्तक), ៩.ព្រះ«សុរេស្វរៈ»(सुरेश्वर), ១០.ឥសី«ទុវ៌ាសៈ»(दुर्वासा), ១១.ព្រះ«អវធូត»(अवधूत), ១២.ព្រះគោ«វ្រឹសភៈ»(वृषभ), ១៣.ព្រះ«ក្រឹស្ណទស៌ន៑»(कृष्णदर्शन), ១៤.ព្រះ«ភិក្សុវយ៌ៈ»(भिक्षुवर्य), ១៥.ព្រះ«យក្សៈ»(यक्ष), ១៦.ព្រះ«យតិនាថ»(यतिनाथ), ១៧.ស្តេចស្វា«ហនុមាន»(हनुमान), ១៨.«អស្វត្ថាមា»(अश्वत्थामा) និង១៩.ព្រានព្រៃ«កិរាតៈ»(किरात)។
