Описание: Taródi-vár (Taródi-Burg) heißt eine ab 1953 von István Taródi (1925–2010) und seiner Familie errichtete Burg in der ungarischen Stadt Sopron und befindet sich im Stadtteil Felsőlőverek. Der Bau, von manchen als „visionäre“ Architektur bezeichnet, im Volksmund aber auch „Narren-Burg“ genannt, wurde zunächst aus Holz errichtet, ab den 1950er-Jahren begann Taródi mit dem Umbau zur steinernen Burg. Über 200 Waggons Steine (Gneis) und Ziegel wurden verbaut. Taródi hat das Bauwerk im Wesentlichen allein errichtet, unter gelegentlicher Mithilfe seines Sohnes. Der höchste Turm ist fast 20 Meter hoch, zum Bauwerk gehören eine Zugbrücke, Wendeltreppen und andere typische Charakteristika traditioneller Burgen. Das Grundstück, auf dem die Burg steht, umfasst 2500 m². Davon ist etwa die Hälfte der Fläche mit der Burg überbaut. Die Taródi-Burg, nach Auskunft ihres Erbauers als spielerische Freizeitgestaltung konzipiert, wird bereits seit etlichen Jahren als touristische Sehenswürdigkeit Soprons beworben.

Taródi-vár (Taródi Castle) is the name of a castle in the Hungarian city of Sopron, built from 1953 onwards by István Taródi (1925–2010) and his family. It is located in the Felsőlőverek district. The building, described by some as "visionary" architecture, but popularly also called the "Fool's Castle," was initially constructed of wood, but in the 1950s, Taródi began converting it into a stone castle. Over 200 wagons of stone (gneiss) and bricks were used. Taródi erected the structure essentially alone, with occasional assistance from his son. The tallest tower is almost 20 meters high, and the structure includes a drawbridge, spiral staircases, and other typical features of traditional castles. The property on which the castle stands covers 2500 m², about half of which is covered by the castle. The Taródi Castle, designed as a playful leisure activity according to its builder, has been promoted as a tourist attraction in Sopron for several years.
