Once again, this is Ali the Dazzling with you. In today's video, I talked about the dark side of doing a PhD, and some truths about doing a PhD that nobody really talks about. This is my first attempt at doing a PhD vlog, or a Phlog, where I share my experience as a PhD student and show what its like to be a graduate student vlogger. I indirectly offer advice for new PhD students on what to expect.

Doing a PhD is a big decision. Is a PhD worth it? Is a PhD hard? Should you do a PhD? Those are all valid questions. Here I address what nobody tells you about doing a PhD, and how being a PhD student may look different on paper than in real life. I also debunk some myths of PhD productivity and show how me being an electrical engineering PhD student who humbly still does things last minute at times, and that is normal.
