On May 8, 2021 at approximately 3:15 a.m., Monroe County Michigan Sheriff’s Deputies were on patrol when they heard a single gunshot around the area of the Pleasantville Mobile Home Community. When they arrived, they found 26-year-old Michael Tripp lying in the street mortally wounded with a gunshot wound, and two potential suspects closeby. They were 21-year-old Austin Jordan-Green and 20-year-old Riley Young, and investigators quickly determined they were the prime suspects in what was now officially a homicide.
Austin’s first brought in for questioning, where he tried his best to spin this story in a way detectives would buy. But it would be an uphill climb-especially considering the irrefutable evidence police had linking both suspects to the crime.
