Known as one of the earliest spring flower festivals in South Korea, is in Gwangyang Maehwa Plum Flower Festival (광양매화축제) in Jeollanamdo province.

This festival is in a small village along Seomjin River, known for its maehwa plum trees, ice cream, and other food products. It's a perfect place to enjoy the white, pink, and purple plum flowers. You can also buy local food and flowers from local people there. We recommend the plum flavored ice cream!

About Gwangyang:
Gwangyang-si (광양시) is a rural city best known for steel production, tall mountains, and the yearly Maehwa Plum Flower Festival in March. Gwangyang (광양) is an hour from Gwangju U Square Bus Terminal. From Gwangju U Bus Terminal, use the "DongGwangyang" (Jungma) Bus Terminal.
