Thanks to OSMOSIS and thanks to WAKE-STYLE.COM for providing the toys to play with. 🙏
In this video I parawing downwind in El Gouna, Egypt, starting from OSMOSIS Watersports Station on a windy day with 20–25 knots.
The Red Sea around El Gouna offers incredible conditions for parawing, wing foiling and downwind foiling: warm water, consistent wind and beautiful reefs underneath you while riding the swells.
The day before filming this I already did almost 70 km in about 4.5 hours, so today the goal is simple:
Can I go even further?
Before heading out, I quickly show you the OSMOSIS watersports station.
The station offers everything you need for an awesome day on the water.
Once on the water we look at:
• How the AXIS Fireball 1350 performs in Red Sea swell
• Why the speed range of the 1350 is perfect for El Gouna conditions
• Navigating reef sections and boat traffic safely
• Switching parawing sizes (4.2m → 3m) for better pack-down while riding
• Downwind riding techniques like front foot positioning and staying high on the wave etc.
The Red Sea reef colors underneath the board are absolutely incredible – but they also mean you have to stay ALERT, because in some sections the reef gets shallow quickly.
I also talk about safety tips for parawing downwinders, including:
• Carrying a diving knife in case of fishing nets
• Using a mobile eSIM by SAILY for offshore reception
• Staying visible for tourist boats and catamarans
• Choosing gear that matches the speed of the swell
Gear used in this video:
• Board: AXIS Mako “Frankboard” 120 L
• Front Wing: AXIS Fireball 1350
• Stabilizer: AXIS Skinny 45 (+0.5° shim)
• Mast: AXIS 75 cm High Modulus Carbon
• Fuselage: AXIS Short Fuse 700
• Parawing: 3m OZONE Pocket Rocket / 4.2m FLOW Dwing
