It's been 7 years since I last visited the Shrine of Sayeda Zainab (a.s.) due to the war, but now that ISIS have officially been defeated we have the opportunity to return without fearing for our lives.
Sayyidah Zaynab was the daughter of the first Imam Ali and Fatimah bint Muhammad. The Holy Prophet Muhammad was her grandfather.
She is often revered for her admirable characteristics and actions. Like other members of her family she became a great figure of sacrifice, strength, and piety in Islam.
There is great reward in visiting the Shrines of the family of the Holy Prophet and their beloved ones. We used to visit often, but since the beginning of the war in Syria it has been near impossible to visit. This meant that the streets that were once busy and full of visitors had become completely empty, and despite the fall of ISIS many people are still scared to visit.
I made this short documentary to show the wider community that it is now safe to visit the Shrine of Sayeda Zainab, and to encourage people to visit her shrine.
