The Happy Sound 2026 workshop brought together students from UTC, UITM, TUI, and unibz for an intensive week dedicated to sustainable design and sound engineering.
After learning the fundamentals of loudspeaker design, participants dismantled used desktop speakers and explored e-waste challenges during a visit to the TRI D3E Paprec recycling center. These insights inspired teams to develop and prototype their own upcycled loudspeaker concepts.
Sustainability guided every step of the process. Using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software, students evaluated the environmental impact of their designs and integrated the results into their final presentations.
The week concluded with listening sessions, project showcases, and a shared celebration of collaboration and learning.
