Описание: Amid rising tensions in West Asia and fears of disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the Indian government has issued directives to secure domestic fuel supplies. Refiners have been instructed to maximize LPG production, use propane and butane primarily for LPG, and supply only to state-run oil companies – IOCL, HPCL, BPCL. Petrochemical use of propane and butane has been restricted, and public sector firms are prioritizing household LPG availability. Officials stress India has ample reserves of crude, petroleum products, and LPG, and is well-positioned to handle supply disruptions, including increased imports from Russia, which now accounts for around 20% of India’s crude imports, compared to 0.2% in 2022.
