Kanlaon Volcano, the highest point on Negros Island in the Philippines, produced a moderately explosive eruption on February 19, 2026, at 4:38 PM, with a dark gray ash column reaching 2,000 meters in altitude and pyroclastic flows descending the volcano's flanks. It is the first explosive eruption recorded by PHIVOLCS in 2026.
