RV Camping at Lyman Lake State Park St Johns, Arizona Drive Through and Review
Hey folks, this is our third stop in the southwest. We left Carlsbad New Mexico and headed towards Roswell New Mexico on hwy-285. After a few close encounters we turned west on to hwy-380, this was a beautiful drive. We drove through a few mountains then a lava field before ending up at Interstate-25 in San Antonio New Mexico, yes there's a San Antonio in New Mexico. We drove about ten mile north to Socorro New Mexico then headed west again on hwy-60, again driving through beautiful land formations and landscapes. We passed through "Pie Town", stopped for some pie, then made our way to Springerville Arizona. In Springerville we headed north on US Hwy-191 for about twenty miles to Lyman Lake State Park.
Lyman Lake State park is, in my opinion, a nice destination campground. There were more things to do there than we first thought. Its quiet, peaceful, beautiful, adventuring and just plain old nice. After a relaxing afternoon/evening and good night's sleep Angel and I woke up wanting to adventure around, so we did. We did a short hike on one of the nearby hills (close to the lake) and had the pleasure of seeing a few of the area's petroglyphs. We went over to the lake and took in some of the views. Next time we'll stay no less than three nights there. It was excellent.
The sites we had were C-21 and C-23, 20A/30A/50A, fairly level. (about $30 per night)

Once we left Lyman Lake we were on our way to the Grand Canyon! But before the Grand Canyon we made stops along the way to see The Petrified Forest, The Painted Desert and then Meteor Crater.
