The idea of Isra University was conceived with the same thought to set up an institution to help the underprivileged people of Sindh through Education, Health Care, Social Welfare and Human Resource Development.

Prof. Dr. Nazir Ashraf Laghari, one of the founding member of Isra University and current Vice Chancellor of the University has only one dream that every child should have the opportunity to receive a quality education through Isra University and every patient at Isra University hospital is healed.

The University has established three campuses. The main campus is situated in the historical city of Hyderabad, with constituent campuses in the metropolitan city of Karachi (Established in 2010) and the capital city of Islamabad (Established in 2011). Both constituent campuses are academically and administratively managed by the main campus in Hyderabad.

The main specialties of Isra University, Hyderabad Campus are Isra University Hospital and Isra University Welfare Hospital. These hospitals also act as teaching hospitals and postgraduate training institutes. Also Isra University Hospital in addition to offering tertiary care facilities, is a prime medical facility in the city of Hyderabad and provides services in almost all the fields of medicine and surgery.
Isra University Hospital is the pioneer in introducing the most advanced Refractive Eye Surgery commonly known as LASIK as back as 1998 in Pakistan. We also have the honor to start the Fetal Intra-Uterine Medical and Surgical Intervention in Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. We are the first to start the invasive Cardiac Services in Hyderabad. These include: Pace Maker Insertions, Angiography, Angioplasty and above all the Open Heart Surgery.
The Isra University Hospital is manned by a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Despite this, the charges in this Hospital are comparatively much lower than other hospitals of the region.

The Isra University Welfare Hospital, on the other hand, is well known for providing quality medical services, at nominal charges, to the needy patients. The surgical treatment, the laboratory and radiological investigations are highly subsidized. Moreover, we have Isra Patient Welfare Fund that is independently supported and managed by the well-wishers of Isra. This Fund provides a further subsidy to the deserving patients.
