Troy Barrett has been traded to a failing team after he accused his teammate of being a predator. His life is in shambles and but meets the most wholesome man at his new team. Harris Drover is sunshine personified. He recognizes that Troy is going through some stuff and decides to befriend him. They become friends and then more when Troy comes out to Harris.

OMG, this book was so good! Rachel Reid ATE! 🖕🏽 toxic sports culture. I am so glad that I continued with this series.

As a Ryan Price fan, I haven’t 100% forgiven Troy for being a jerk, but I understand he was going through some stuff. Harris was the ultimate book boyfriend material, and Ilya was absolutely perfect in this book. I adore perceptive Ilya!

Rachel Reid is tackling difficult topics about toxic culture in sports (specifically hockey for this series) and she’s just hitting all nails on the head. Role Model is my favorite story line of this series so far. I highly recommend anyone to continue the series after reading Heated Rivalry.

Cooper North was great in this audiobook. He really gave life to these characters and I loved his version of playful Ilya.

TLDR: My favorite story line of the series. Harris is perfection. Perceptive Ilya is amazing.
