Doc Watson and his wife Rosa Lee wrote and sang this gorgeous song together. Sometimes it is printed or recorded as "Your Long Journey" instead of "Lone." Both work, but I think lone makes more sense in the context of the lyrics.

This is one of those songs that immediately stuck with me from the moment I first heard it. Given the somewhat twisty and somber nature of it, though, I figured it'd have to be a solo piece for very specific occasions. But when Andy played it in a guitar demo some months ago, it went on the mental list of songs we'd have to jam on at some point!
