In 2016 I celebrated the 40th Anniversary of my career as a professional musician with a concert at Esplanade called Jazzy Business. I started working as a musician in 1976.
One of my special guests was the great guitarist Lee Ritenour and my long time friend and collaborator the great saxophonist Ernie Watts.
Also on the bandstand was the young and very talented flutist Rit Xu. Rit’s late Dad named him after Lee Ritenour because he loved Rit’s music so much.
Completing the ensemble are David Inamine on bass, Shawn Kelley on drums and Mohamed Noor.
Here is one of two tunes I played with Lee and Ernie on the show.
