Normal route from Aiguille du Midi early September. Acclimatization day for Mont Blanc.
Start at 9am and return at the cable car at 4.40pm. Turned around at the summit rock sadly. Usually the snow levels are higher making for an easy finish. But after a hot summer, the traverse to the left was steep brittle ice and would have taken too long. I preferred to get back on time for the last lift.
Fairly easy route, but long and certainly exposed to seracs and a few big crevasses. Is unlikely that I will be doing this again during daytime as the risk is too high.
