Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm Pongal greetings to the people of Tamil Nadu and Tamils across the world.
He attended Pongal celebrations at Union Minister L Murugan’s residence in Delhi, where he praised the hard work of Tamil Nadu’s farmers and described Pongal as a proud and shining Tamil tradition.
PM Modi also highlighted Tamil as the world’s oldest living language. He further conveyed his wishes for Makar Sankranti, praying for happiness, prosperity and good health, and extended greetings on Magh Bihu, celebrated in Assam and parts of the Northeast.
