In this video I try to give viewers a look at my foundry process with some of the details of my furnace, hoist equipment, foundry flasks and molds.
I am using diesel to fuel my furnace. The furnace is a modified 55 gal barrel lined with Blu-Ram refractory and ceramic wool.
It took me a while to compile this video which consists of 8 or so segments. I used editing software that is new (new software is always intresting!) to me so that I could make a few clarifying voiceovers and so I could avoid excessive cropping of the video images.
Added: The melt took 105 minutes and consumed slightly over 20 liters of fuel. The pouring temp was 2550F as measured by an immersion pyrometer.
