Описание: Last year, we were planning to do "Come September" instead of "Dark Eyes Twist" on this very same day. But we didn't make it. We didn't want September to come for a special reason too last time but this year, I guess we kind of want August to finish quickly and can't wait for September to come! So ladies and gentlemen, may we present to you "Come September" (cover) the Ventures version, theme song of the movie from 1961 Come Together, directed by Robert Mulligan and starring Rock Hudson, Gina Lollobrigida, Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin.

I have friends who saw the movie in the 60s telling me it wasn't really a big success, despite Hudson was a pretty big name of the time even in our city back then. I tell ya, I only know him from Dynasty. But, this theme song of the movie, with The Ventures adding magic to it, the movie was some how remembered and many thought it was a classic flick with the same level of success like "Roman Holiday". Personally, "Roman Holiday" is always going to be a classic, and the the Ventures song "Come September" is a classic too. Even as a kid, I had heard this songs thousands of times.

So folks, hope you like it. Mina told me it's a fun song to do but it's a simple tune too. But, I have a strong feeling an epic surf rock song is on its way on par with songs like El Bimbo. So stay tuned! By the way, Mina added lots of tremolo and vibrato and created a special patch for this song, hoping that it would sound closer to how Nokie Edwards played it in their album.

Ride of the Song: 2011 Mercedes Benz S-class Coupe (w221)

Yes, September is coming but the temperature is still so high. We constantly get someting like 34c to 35c here (around 96F I guess) and boy, relative humidity is always over 90%. The economy has gotten even worse and yes, cash is king, so for those who still has a lot of cash, your bargaining power is high. Who cares about an electric car when one can get a smooth ride and elegance at such high level, not being an imposter as the S-class coupe looks really subtle and in fact, it looks like a blown up C-class coupe and could really blend in! Exept, the ride and interior is so posh you'd think you are flying first class although you are only cruising on land. The trunk space is huge for 4 golf bags but since we don't play golf (I tried, and u wouldn't believe how much fingers bled), the trunk space is perfect for all our rigs. The rear legroom for sure is spacious enough for the long legged band members of our band the Cotton Kids, and the dash, despite from over a decade ago, in my eyes, still look not dated. I am really not too crazy about having ipad or two on dash. I can't stand the finger prints. A 2011 S-class coupe costs probably half the price of a brand new Model 3. If you don't get the V12 but the V8, it doesn't really cost that much to for repair and maintenance. Just don't take it back to the authorized dealership and you will be alright. Wait, I have not mentioned how many horses you get and how torque is ready at your toe tips. Don't worry, the S-class coupe will give you plenty.

No, I don't mind dropping Mina off at school or going to gigs in such an "old" posh car. Cheers!
