I had to fix quite a few music crashes for this to run on accurate emulators. You can download my fixed version at https://bin.smwcentral.net/u/12429/Su... . (I only tested this on the bsnes core of bizhawk.)
In this playthrough, I didn't focus on the intended strats. I just used the first strat that I found that worked out. I tried to avoid walljumps, corner clips, or other trick that are very dependent on your speed and subpixels. I did use block duplication, as that is one of the glitches the intended strats often used.
This hack features an interesting bug where some of the bosses won't reset the 'boss beaten' flag (also known as the Sunken Ghost Ship glitch). This has the following effects:
Mario won't walk after hitting a goal tape.
In the level where beating a boss gives you a secret exit, the goal orb gives you a secret exit instead. 01:21:52 (normal exit will lead up, not left, see 01:31:19)
Yoshi's animation and properties get messed up. You can't duck on him (hence you can't do the stun glitch). All Yoshis that grow will be one of the following: orange square Yoshi (01:09:32), low rider Yoshi (01:07:35 01:13:21 01:15:00), Chubby Yoshi (01:13:31). (the names are from the glitch list) Yoshis that are placed in the level work as normal, except that you can't duck on them either.
The tongue of the orange square and low rider Yoshis spawns way below Yoshi's position.
When riding an orange square Yoshi, Mario is way below him. (i.e. you die if Yoshi is too close to the bottom of the screen.
The Chubby Yoshi behaves the best in the sense that his tongue is close enough to him for p-switch duplication or the Yoshi-springboard glitch.
This glitch might make for an interesting TAS route.
In the Yoshi wings bonus level, you apparently only need to hit the bottom of the screen (and not the bottom of the level) to exit. Hence lava at the bottom does not provide full break protection.
Funny story: During my first (=blind) playthrough of this hack, I did the same break in 'Icy Water!' (item swapping a p-switch to change its color.) I missed the p-switch at 01:28:05 and thought I had to bring the p-switch from the beginning to 01:28:27 to get past the invisible horizontal coin blocks.
I finally managed to skip the 256 pipe entries in water fun (which is a huge time save). 42:34 Funnily enough, this only works due the use of warp-blocks as a pipe.
I think this hack has some really nice background graphics.
The pause menu has some interesting features 01:18
