Описание: The US Army Acquisition Command awarded a new contract to Lockheed Martin in late March 2025 for 1,170 Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) and fire control systems worth $4.9 billion. Earlier, 110 missiles were already ordered for the US Army in 2024. The delivery will take up to 4 years (2029), but may be completed earlier due to the planned increase in production capacity to 500 units per year.

The PrSM is intended to replace the aging MGM-140 Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), known for its successful use during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
The difference between PrSM and ATACMS is its range (at least 400 km instead of 300), as well as the ability to launch two missiles at once (instead of one) from a launch platform (M270 or HIMARS). In addition, the missile is equipped with an advanced navigation and guidance system that combines inertial and GPS navigation, which allows for high-precision strikes even in the absence or deterioration of satellite signals.
