Caye Caulker, Belize | Day in my life backpacking Central America

Описание: I had high expectations already but WOW... Caye Caulker truly exceeded them and the snorkelling tour alone was one of the highlights of our time backpacking Central America!

Picture this - insane blue water, beautiful sunsets, incredible marine life and laid-back island vibes and you have Caye Caulker. After travelling through the jungle of Guatemala for a week, the island change was refreshing and exactly what we needed. As soon as we were on the ferry over to Caye Caulker, we knew we were in for something special. The colour of the water was captivating from the moment we got to Belize!

Given we spent most of our time in Caye Caulker relaxing, we chose to just bring you along for this one day where we ticked a major experience off our bucket list! Come snorkelling with us as we experience one of the biggest reefs in the world and see some of the most amazing marine life!

🏝️ Wondering how long to spend in Caye Caulker?
We spent 4 nights and 3 full days on the island and it was great! Potentially even one night too long! Given the tiny size of the island, you can experience Caye Caulker in 1-3 days.

🏝️ Is Belize/Caye Caulker good for backpackers?
We had spent the 6 weeks before Belize backpacking through Central America. Out of all the destinations we visited, Belize was the most expensive and least backpacker-friendly. We could not find any hostel accommodation that looked nice enough to stay in (or was available) so we decided to get a private room instead. In saying that, Belize is still cheaper than a standard US vacation, but our daily spend was at least double what we spent in other parts of Central America.
