Charming mountain towns in the Picos de Europa Natural Park | Travel to Spain 4K

Описание: [August 2023] Explore three picturesque towns located in the very heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. Posada de Valdeón and Santa Marina de Valdeón, two of eight towns of the Municipality of Posada de Valdeón, can be visited driving along the Valdeón Valley. Portilla de la Reina, the third town in this video, is the southern entrance area to the Picos de Europa National Park. All these towns fascinate with their incredibly beautiful nature, breathtaking views of the mountains, and clean air. A great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of big cities, and relax in nature. These are cozy, well-maintained towns with beautiful traditional architecture. For the convenience of tourists, information stands with a map of the most important buildings and brief explanations are available. The Hórreos, or old granaries, are one of the most charming structures in the area. These are wooden constructions raised above the ground on pillars, which main purpose was to prevent animals from reaching the stored food. Nowadays they are impractical for this purpose, but the locals are good at preserving these historical sites.

We visited these beautiful towns during a day trip, that started from Potes, which is a great place to stay while exploring the Picos de Europa Natural Park. Also we managed to explore beautiful Riaño, enjoy incredible panoramic views of Valdeón valley and take a short walk in the misty forest near mirador de Panderrueda.
