A student at Moi University, David Mokaya, who was recently acquitted of charges related to allegedly putting Ruto in a coffin image, has now moved to the High Court seeking compensation for alleged violation of his constitutional rights.
Through his lawyers — Danstan Omari, Shadrack Wambui, and Martina Swiga — Mokaya claims that his right to privacy was infringed after Safaricom allegedly granted investigators access to his personal data without a valid court order. He is now seeking damages, arguing that the release of his private information was unlawful and unconstitutional.
