Varuna, the Greatest Vedic deity is also complex, inscrutable, difficult to study and to decipher. Veritably the study of Varuna is a mirror of the early Vedic period amid the preponderance and domination of deities representing natural forces. As a cosmic overlord Varuna is second to none but bears close congruence with the attributes of other significant deities in its anthropomorphism. As GOD/ASURA Varun encompasses the entire scope of cosmic activity and is the same as the Ahura Mazda of Zoroastrianism. In later evolution, Neptune influence can be viewed as a petered down version of Varuna. Varuna/Neptune holds special significance in Medical Astrology as well as a multitude of mysterious illnesses and equally inscrutable and miraculous cures are attributed to it.
