DIY: MACRAME LEAF TUTORIAL | INTERMEDIATE MACRAME PATTERN | MACRAME FEATHER

Описание: I am very excited to share with you my new macrame leaf tutorial! I have gotten so many requests to make a leaf/feather tutorial on the popular version with the combed out fringe, but I will be honest, I DREAD making those with the never ending combing, trimming, etc. They are messy, tedious and far too time consuming if you ask me!

This is definitely an intermediate pattern as we use mostly Double Half Hitch knots, but if you would like to try it and are not confident with them, please watch the videos below for slow, in depth videos with lots of tips and tricks on perfecting the knots we use for this pattern:

This pattern is mostly repetition so I did speed up the video so it wasn't too boring and lengthy to watch, but if it goes too fast please remember you can always slow down or speed up any YouTube video by tapping your screen and pressing those 3 little dots that pop up on the right to adjust playback speed.

For cord I like to use a 3ply rope for these because it gives nice straight lines and structure, but you can use any cord you have. Please note it is always a good idea to cut extra length of cords for your first time trying a new pattern as there are many variables such as, different companies sizes carries GREATLY, the tension and spacing of each individuals knotting, etc. These all can contribute to either extra cord left over, or some cords coming up short.

The finished leaf MEASURES:
LENGTH: 33in/84cm (from very top to bottom cord)
WIDTH: 8in/20.5cm

HERE IS EXACTLY WHAT I USED:
1in/2.5cm metal ring, size doesn't matter, you can use what you have, no I don't have a link, I have had these for years!
3ply, 5mm rope cut to the following lengths:
3 x 10.5ft/320cm
2 x 10ft/305cm
9.5ft/290cm
9ft/275cm
8.5ft/260cm
7.5ft/230cm
6ft/185cm
4.5ft/140cm
2.75ft/84cm
TOTAL CORD: 107.25FEET / 32.7METERS
