Here’s a rather long winded video of how to build stairs with a landing, a pretty common scenario. The challenge with building staircases is always accomadating the finishes so that the end result creates an even rise. I will do a short follow up video on part 2 that will show the completed framing. I’ll then do anothet follow up to that one (part 3.) which will show how to do some extra considerations for a mixed flooring scenario. For example how to deduct for 1” of tile on the bottom floor, 3/4 plywood on the landing and carpet on the 2nd floor. These scenarios will create some wierdness in the first step or last step if not properly adjusted.
Anyway; this is a pretty basic example where the flooring isn’t going to be a factor. Also, keep in mind there are dozens of ways to do this, and this is just the way I like do it. Always finishes out perfect, always passes inspection. Thanks for tuning in!
