Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has said that if the much-anticipated T20 World Cup group-stage clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan does not take place, it is “no big deal”, arguing that the “actual game now never lives up to the hype and drama”. He added that, given the current standing of both teams, it often feels like India are “beating minnows” whenever they defeat Pakistan. Manjrekar’s remarks come in the wake of the Pakistan government’s decision to boycott the group-stage T20 World Cup match against their traditional rivals.
