These are two traditional tunes on accordion and fiddle.
The Banks of the Allan is a popular Scottish Jig.
Waiting for the Federals is a reel thought to pre-date the American Civil War.
There are many variations of this melody, and the version we play was picked up by ear, playing in traditional sessions in Scotland. "Federals" was a Civil War-era reference to the Union Army.
