Peter Henry Chesney (10th January 1924 - 29th June 2017) served in the 33rd Field Regiment of The Royal Artillery during the Second World War. In November 2016, he was awarded the Legion d'Honneur, for his role in the liberation of France:

As a radio operator, Peter's main duties were to send and receive target coordinates for the QF 25-pounders of 109 Battery. Here he describes the structure of his unit, along with its equipment, tactics and targeting procedures.
