New Mack LR Heil DuraPack 5000 Garbage Truck

I was quite surprised to turn into a backdown and see this truck running the route in place of the white truck. According to the driver in this video, the regular yard waste driver for Wheaton quit, so they had no one left at the West Chicago yard to fill in and had to call this driver from Morton Grove (LRS’ headquarters) to finish it on his day off. Wheaton is only supposed to be serviced by the West Chicago yard because it’s the closest yard, and West Chicago used to be the K Hoving yard, so before LRS bought K Hoving all the trucks came from Morton Grove. Having said that, this is why I was quite surprised to see a Morton Grove truck doing the route.

I really like the combo, I think it works well and it can definitely pack a good load. The packer was actually very fast, which isn’t something Heil is known for having. I’m not sure which I like more, the LR McNeilus RLs LRS has or these. The driver was also very nice and friendly, and he gave me lots of background which was very helpful.
