The West Tennessee Railroad (WTNN) is a shortline based in Jackson, TN and has several routes out of town. One such route is the line to Kenton, TN, which is a former Illinois Central Gulf-owned line that was originally built by the Mobile and Ohio. While not what it once was, the line still sees a decent amount of traffic, as there are two trains that utilize the route multiple times a week.
After catching a few CN trains in Fulton, we decided to venture out on a whim and would fortuitously find train T95 working in Dyer before it began the journey south back to Jackson. The ultimate goal was to catch some of the railroads old soldiers, being B23-7 and C30-7 locomotives. Fortunately, T95 would have a pair of the former units which made us all the more pleased with our decision to start our hunt when we did.
Before we start our chase of T95, we'll see a couple of well-timed CSX eastbounds on the Memphis Subdivision that were our first catches of the trip, a nice and unexpected way for our journey to the Midwest to begin.
