Little comparison between a '87 Mark Red Stripe (60W) and a '89 Mark III Green Stripe (100W SimulClass).
Both hooked up to the same 4x12 Earforce Cabniet loaded with V30 speakers.
Amp Switcher: Palmer TINO.
No FX used. Just a little amp reverb on both.
Both amps are set exactly the same. EQ is on in both channels on both amps. Green Stripe is set at Simul Class.
I tried to play through some different styles; Clean picked, clean strumming, Lead rhythm and Lead single notes. Nevermind my sloppy playing.
You can see the amp switcher LED below the cabinet. Green light is the lower amp (A) and red light is the upper amp (B) which is slightly cut out the picture due to camera placement.
GUESS: Which amp is the red stripe or the green stripe?
Can you hear the differences and similarities?
Both amps are recorded through the iPhone. No mics in the room. No post production. Uncut single shot recording.
