Ken Peplowski, clarinet, leader; Keith Ingham, piano; Marty Grosz, guitar; Vince Giordano, aluminum double bass; Arnie Kinsella, drums; Andy Stein, violin; Scott Robinson, Normaphone, bass saxophone; tenor saxophone; Randy Reinhart, Randy Sandke, Jon-Erik Kellso, Bob Barnard, trumpet, cornet; Dan Barrett, Bob Havens, trombone. The last notes played (and scatted) at the end of a joyous and exhausting weekend at Jazz at Chautauqua, 2001. This extravagance was created by the exquisitely wonderful musicians, and presented to a live audience by enthusiast, collector, promote, visionary Joe Boughton (who got good value from the musicians from Thursday afternoon to this). That we can see it now is thanks to the kindness of Sarah Boughton Holt and Bill Boughton, and it is presented with reverence and hilarity by Michael Steinman for JAZZ LIVES (http://www.jazzlives.wordpress.com). Eighteen is life, symbolically, and this surely is.
