Introduction Week
In a series called Protractor Paintings, American artist Frank Stella focused on basic elements of an artwork: bright color, simple geometric shapes, and composition.
I wonder if this painting communicates a mood to you? When I look at his paintings I see rhythm in the way Stella arranged and overlapped the circular shapes, like a sense of movement.
If you had a pencil and a compass, what kind of design could you create?
