African Challenge Scotland organised a large community event to promote its work in support of justice, equality, inclusion, diversity, culture, and sport in Glasgow and beyond.
The event took place on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Springburn Park, Broomfield Road, Glasgow, G21 3UQ, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The event was a great success, providing opportunities for children, young people, and adults from ethnic and racial minorities to experience sport, culture, education, and physical activity. The program included a mini-football tournament for adults, veterans, and youth; women's handball; information booths; children's activities and a play area; free barbecues; face painting; balloons; youth cycling; a bouncy castle; airsoft and hang tuff; a DJ and live music, among other activities.
This event strengthened ties within our communities and launched initiatives to reduce social inequalities.
This event offered personalised social and health support, filling gaps for people facing complex challenges, including housing support and, in some cases, specialist care.
Working in partnership: Collaborating with local authorities, charities, and businesses to address broader social, economic, and health inequalities.
Building social connections: Initiatives to bring together people from diverse backgrounds to improve mutual understanding and reduce isolation.
African Challenge Scotland has strived to unite communities and promote social inclusion through targeted, grassroots, and strategic initiatives.
